What’s In The Body Butter?
The selected butters are chosen based on their natural properties and the positive effects it will have on the skin. During the creation process we are careful to ensure the integrity of the products are not compromised. This allows the natural beneficial properties to be delivered through the application of the product on the skin.
Below are a few of our base butters used and their benefits.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the Shea-Karite tree, found exclusively in Africa. It's high concentration of irremovable fatty acids gives shea butter an unparalleled healing property. The presence of Vitamins A and E help the skin keep itself healthy, helps in healing sun damaged skin, and assists in preventing premature wrinkles and facial lines. Vitamin F specifically protects and heals the skin, soothes rough, dry or cracked skin, and helps soften dry, and damaged hair. Shea is non-pore clogging, and easily penetrates the skin to deliver it's natural moisturizing benefits.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is derived from the cacao bean, found inside the cocoa pod that grows on the cacao tree. For years people have known of the benefits of Cocoa Butter. It acts as a deep moisturizer, a scar reducer, and a sensitive skin healer. These claims come from the vitamins found within the cacao bean; they include Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin F, palmitoleic acid, and archidic acid.
These ingredients are the reason cocoa butter can facilitate wound healing, slow the look of aging by preventing wrinkles, soothe pain and discomfort, repair scarred and blemished skin, as well as moisturize and tighten the skin.
Mango Butter
The mango tree is native to South Asia; the butter from mangos is moisturizing without being greasy.
Mango butter is high in antioxidants, vitamins, and has wound healing properties. It helps with dry itchy skin, calms itching from bug bites, and the anti-inflammatory properties can help control eczema and psoriasis.
Kokum Butter
Kokum Butter is extracted from the fruit of the kokum tree, found mainly in South India.
Among the wondrous assets of the Kokum fruit, the presence of garcinol provides the butter with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It's rich with Vitamin E, fatty acids, and Vitamin B complexes which makes it ideal for chapped lips, cracked feet, dry hands, and dry scaly skin. Kokum butter also improves skin elasticity and allows the skin to become more flexible. This butter is non-comedogenic meaning it is less likely to clog pores.
